I just uninstalled windows after a mod of ets2 stopped working and the game itself has provided those features in the latest updates. I simply download games from john cena and they always work. 100% of the time to be accurate.

Are we really comparing a store showing ads to an operating system showing ads?
Google is shit tho, we all know that. But windows 11 is an ad platform.
Jc141 is easily the best scene(kinda) on linux. It’s almost always click and play.
Arch is quite accurate
It just works it’s just better supported because of the monopoly Microsoft established
I disagree. They might not go out of their way to recommend windows but when any other alternative is mentioned they 100% start arguing.
I’ve seen people on r/programming complain that they hated linux and open source cause it gave them a way to use a feature in vlc that wasn’t there natively. The other day I saw someone complaining that linux had window rules.
Can you elaborate? I like mine a lot. It’s super fast.
Does windows show logs? What documentation is going to help you when you don’t know the error. Most windows troubleshooting guides I’ve seen include 4-5 solutions and say try all of them maybe something will work if you are lucky. On linux you can find pretty much any bug on GitHub or an online forum.
Edit: ignore this guy lol. Just seen him in other comments in this thread. Dude is saying skill issue when he’s literally scared of a terminal.
Did you mean you were daily driving linux 20 years ago?
Also “it just automatically works” because the devices manufacturers optimized it with focus on windows, not Microsoft lmao.
In my experience lemmy has been very wholesome compared to reddit. Even in controversial posts.
Yep. I agree. I forgot to mention I did use ubuntu as my first distro. I was not a fan of it after the snap thing. Maybe this problem would be solved with cosmic os.
Arch install is really nice. I use it pretty regularly now. It definitely is very good rn. But I wish there was a small webpage kinda thing that explains os, de, wm and drivers to new users. Archinstall is definitely a step in the right direction.
I’m asking which region you play so I can join
When I was new to linux, I followed a guide on youtube and didn’t know I installed noveau instead of nvidia. I couldn’t watch any yt video without massive screen tearing. I thought it was arch linux problem. I wish there was an easier guide out there for new users. Arch wiki is super good but navigating it as a beginner is a bit hard in my opinion.
This is like saying you like codeboocks more than something like vs code. If you got more options and you still can’t chose one it’s a skill issue.
Half of your rant is about you not able to keep up with documentation and your severe need for spoon feeding, which in itself is not wrong or bad but you can’t expect it when you don’t use it. If more people use linux, more support from your fav applications. Pretty simple. You have to start somewhere.
