MonkderVierte@lemmy.zipto Linux@lemmy.ml•why didnt Enlightenment desktop recieve much adoption1·11 hours agoI vastly prefer connman/iwd, always had weird issues with NM. Currently running connman-gtk on XFCE.
And tweaking to your needs, isn’t that expected for a new desktop setup? One hour isn’t even that much.
I’m amazed again and again how stuck even technical people can be in their habits.
MonkderVierte@lemmy.zipto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•What's your favourite OS that does not use systemd?2·12 hours agoDinit and s6 are newer. But i see s6 more in server space (modular, uses a compiled database, complex to use) while Dinit in desktop (simple & flexible).

You can try them with Artix, has a flavor of each.

Oh, right, i never used the new ntfs driver. So it’s only a bad memory.
Gaming. Want a quick round in a pause? Mount error: go boot Windows to fix it. But i have multiple tools and sessions and stuff open…
And Windows still can’t handle anything reliable.
Wasn’t there a community gor nonsensical error messages?

Dynamically loading pages suck too.
And if not they have sed or ed or echo and cat.
I think i’ve read something about (pseudo-)RISC architectures not allowing universal drivers for whole families, each must exactly match to the hardware.

Hum, don’t know if this is a pipewire issue or if the DeskMini has too bad shielding (then again, DAC is outside via USB-C). But each time i have slightly huge CPU load, audio starts glitching with crackling to the point of failing altogether until restart of the audio server.
