Beehaw is defederated with Hexbear and Lemmygrad. Most instances are federated with Lemmy.ml (including yours), the only one I know of that isn’t is Lemmy.cafe.

Your comments showing up on beehaw itself, and the beehaw user responding to them with you able to see them, demonstrates that both instances are federated. That other user appears to be misinformed.

That other user appears to be misinformed.
Probably got themselves banned.
