Librebooting a 5yo chromebook has about the same effect if all you need is to print stuff and maybe write a few things down
I agree, it can also extend battery life due to less moving parts as well as an increased reaponsiveness

I put this here because it’s got a side bar that lists the 100 most popular distros queried from their site, which might make it easier to see what’s likely got more support or at least a more active community.

Gun people and Open Source people both can appreciate the right to repair, although Americans, particularly southerners, have a certain tendency to have more gunowners across the land than people who can libreboot a chromebook. Both groups of people can use their devices for good or bad, and I think that was the original message the oop failed to relay; I don’t really know what they think they’re saying.
I’ve put steam on a librebooted chromebook with similar stats, it has to install games on a usb drive/sd card but it works quite well even for casual linux gamers
