  • Since I prefer controller over mouse and keyboard, it’s a lot of games pre-Xbox One era for me. But that is subjective because a lot of people prefer mouse and keyboard.

Games like Oblivion never had a proper way of getting a controller to work with them on the PC release and any tries to get it to work flat out suck. I’ve tried Steam’s button mapping and even that doesn’t work for a lot of these games. But working through an emulator helps translate my controller to the game with almost no issues.

Considering how the Steam Deck plays and you’re usually using it as a controller unless docked, this would be nearly any game from this time period.

  • They do in more quiet ways nowadays. Microsoft Office and GamePass, for example, can only be used on Windows (unless you count the cloud versions that work through the browser).

Then there’s workplaces which most workplaces use Windows. You cannot escape it there.

My workplace is in the process of locking down remote work to where you can’t use Linux for anything anymore. I was looking for a way to remote in using Linux so I could ditch my Windows devices but even that is not going to be an option for me. Defender is enabling that type of stuff more easily in the name of security.

  • I hate these requests so fucking much. I’ve learned a lot of SQL because of it but I’m sick of it. Especially sick of the users who ask for the same data over and over again.

One guy asked me to run a report every first of the month and then he wouldn’t respond when I would send it so I stopped sending it. Additionally because he would request it AGAIN later in the month after I already sent it at the beginning of the month.

Guess it’s too much to search your fucking emails before requesting a new report to be run. A report that I’ve told you countless times will slow down everything for everyone else who’s using the system.

But tHis iS uRgENt aSAp to run a report asking for all data for the last 3 years.

That’s not the point. No business should have to create GPOs to stop this sort of shitty behavior when they buy the edition that was specifically made for enterprise use.

You’d have a point for any business that buys the Home edition and then complains about the forced ads/apps.

It’s even better when you work in a corporate environment, pay more for the Enterprise or Pro version and still get ads about TikTok and Candy Crush forced onto your users! 😁

Why yes, Microsoft, I was expecting for you to forcefully install mobile games onto our computers in our network.
