I have a server I’ve abandoned because it does this every time it reboots. Use an old desktop from work instead.

I actually use the feature that groups them when inactive long enough. If I save a tab on my computer I’m never going back to it but, for some reason, I do eventually get to it on my phone before closing. Usually news articles in reader mode.

I feel like mobile is fair. Things open new tabs automatically a lot more. But I have seen some scary posts asking how to organize tens of thousands of tabs. There’s a neat part to that.

I keep getting an event paused message and honestly don’t have much time in my day to coordinate to do it.

Its because they’re fucken addicted to dark patterns. I want to set firefox as the default. That means any file that edge opens I want Firefox to now open. Except, Microsoft doesn’t do that when you set a different browser as the default. I’d rather it change everything and then I have to change the PDF viewer manually, than have to change six or seven file types manually each time. Thus wouldn’t be an issue if I wasn’t working at my first corporate job, if my manager gave a shit to do anything, and if my company would stop changing everything and breaking my images every other week.

If they’re that dumb leave the extensions on and let their eyes glaze over it like they would anyway. Hiding the extensions doesn’t seem beneficial in any way.

You have a point though. Why hide file types by default unless you believe the users are too dumb to ever learn what a few letters mean.

I have to say I love having no desktop. Something about watching my coworkers become dependent on it is neurotic.
