So often, I find, meetings are too broad and end up oversubscribed. Engineers are in a 2 hour meeting with 10 minutes of relevance.
There are serious differences in meeting culture, with vast implications oh the amount of efficacy you can juice from the attendees.

As a mechanical engineer turned software developer, I do consider the task to be fundamentally an engineering task.
It’s just that the willingness to forgive ineptitude in software is infinitely greater… So much so that the industry has completely normalized absolute garbage work.

Mauro, being a maintainer, was in a position of authority. Like a police officer, their bad behaviour reflected poorly on the organization*as a whole.
If a cop was abusing their power (publicly or not), I expect the chief of police to come down on that abuser; to make clear that this abuse is absolutely unacceptable, not only within the accute instance, but within the greater context of the expectation of the behaviour of the whole organization.
Mauro chose the context of his abusive behaviour as the public mailing list.
Him getting slapped down in that same forum is the direct result of his own choices.
In the same way that I would be upset with the chief of police not publicly and harshy denouncing an abusive police officer, so would I be upset with the absence of such a response in this situation

I agree, it’s completely unacceptable to introduce a bug and then to instead of taking responsibility for introducing such a bug, you start pointing fingers at everybody else.

It also assumes that you can’t directly sell power back to the grid, which without power efficient mining hardware would still be a more valuable thing to do with the electricity.
Oh damn, that looks especially rad! I do run Home Assistant and pipe everything through a selfhosted MQTT server, so there are a ton of use cases I can think of for video detections being piped through MQTT for me. Ty!
I’ve been looking at something for my cameras. I got Zoneminder running but configuring its behaviour was a nightmare.
All I want is to keep a limited rotating backup of a few cameras. Would Shinobi do that?
If you have any smart devices in your home (and even many use cases outside of that) you could run “homeassistant” to pipe all your different smart devices through a common, extensible, scriptable interface.
One of them is EXACTLY 8 ASCII characters, may not contain any English dictionary word, no repeating character. At least 1 number, and at least 1 special characters. Just obliterates the search space.
