Firefox@fedia.io•Mozilla preview new Tab Management UI in the Play Store
1·6 months agoIt’s just sad that Firefox is so insecure about being an individual and forward thinking in design. Not to mention the disrespect of the lifelong users who ask for cool features that would improve FF. Instead, they are so desperate to be Chrome. The end of Firefox will be Mozilla. Chrome users don’t like you and FF users are ignored.

Firefox@fedia.io•Can I have my cursor on at the end of the URL instead of selecting all of it, when I focus on the URL bar?
1·1 year agoMy understanding was, addons (the new versions we use now) were not allowed to clear the address bar. At least that was the excuse they kept pushing, so they removed the setting.

Firefox@fedia.io•Can I have my cursor on at the end of the URL instead of selecting all of it, when I focus on the URL bar?
7·1 year agoIt used to be the default that it would not select it all. There was a setting browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll but they removed it. There is a suggestion to reenable it here. https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/browser-urlbar-clickselectsall-browser-urlbar/idi-p/58433
I have (am on) used Kubuntu daily for over 10+ years and it’s a very mature, easy desktop. I use an LTS only. I tried Neon (wanted to love it) but Kubuntu was just ready to go for my needs. Also, I uninstalled Snap because I don’t use it and hate it. I prefer AppImages when necessary. I always suggest Kubuntu especially to people who dislike Ubuntu. I don’t need “cutting edge” technology, I used “cutting edge” before and realized it’s just hype. Most Linux distros have up to date software that is quite functional, jumping up to the next x.xx version of anything will not change your life. My LTS has backports so I still get current updates for most things.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•The team that pushed yesterday's Crowdstrike update has been identified.

I do random things like the names of vegetables or colors or car brands. But right now I am using Borg designations. Not in use, but an example would be eleven@twelve. Although not a server, I tend to add the capacity to USB drives. They are issued a number and I keep track of them. When one dies it gets deleted from the inventory list. So it would be IssueNumber-capacity 103-04G.

Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Email service that integrates well with Thunderbird?
2·2 years agoNo, cPanel is the interface you use to manage your hosting package. It’s the Admin part to add & remove domains, websites, email, etc. In cPanel you can set up your email for your personal domain(s). Roundcube is a web email client that can be used to access your email. Or you can use a client like Thunderbird on your device.

I play Yukon all the time. And I have learned 2 things. 1. When it says “Calculating…” when the game starts, you’re not going to win. And 2. If you stack too many random cards, it eventually tells you the game is lost. The other weird thing that happens is, sometimes you use the “Hint” and it will just show you how to move a card from same to same. Example, you have a 2 sitting on a 3, and there is an open 3. And that’s the only move left. It’s a forever loop that you never win or lose.
