How are you setting them to different values in the first place?

So, when I first saw this headline, my process went like this

“Stuttering? I’ve got stuttering when I’m under Wayland. Is this link about nvidia stuff, which I’m already across or some other thing?”

“Hmm, no more context in the headline. Oh, and it’s a video link, so I can’t even click on the link to get a quick summary to know if it’s relevant to me. I don’t want to watch the video if it’s not relevant to me”

And that was the end of it. I never bothered to click on it.

“Try this…” where “this” is intentionally vague until you click on the link is standard clickbait tactics…

If I had to guess, it’s because it’s a click bait headline that offers nothing useful to people until they’ve committed to watching a video

“Has a future” in this context means “Streaming media without explicit ownership rights will continue to be here/relevant in to the future, unlike the idea of ‘owning’ digital media”

Old Intel NUC running external drives via USB C is exactly our setup. Jellyfin + Navidrome and other misc stuff

Yep, I use Symfonium too, and it does exactly what I need, but only on Android! I’m looking for something to drive the music at home too, which means I need either a windows client, or a linux client with a web enabled GUI.

I tried Musicbee, but I couldn’t get the subsonic plugin to show the music in the Musicbee library. It exposed the music files, but none of the metadata I used to build my playlists from. If I could get Musicbee pulling ratings and last played information over the subsonic API, it would be perfect!

It strikes me that there is the potential to use trusted remote servers as a means of recovering the lost data. I mean, nearly every lemmy instance except lemmy.ml will have copies of the missing data, and given the hugely redundant availability of that data (including the ability to compare from multiple sources to establish/verify trust), using that data to rebuild missing content seems like it could be useful functionality.
