It works on the web version, it displays on the app, they only block sending from the app for some wierd unknown reason

Webp is there to replace jpegs, gifs, and smaller pngs. It’s better than them in mostly everything, it took around 10 years for something slightly better to come (jxl), and it ran into the same issue, the lack of support from some big asshole company

Usually, they use a light grey instead of white, so the text doesn’t become overly bright, but not yellow, that’s usually reserved for highlights or similiar effects, except when in „High contrast mode”, when they use yellow for text/outlines and black as a background
It is. Fuck .heic, it doesn’t compress well, it’s also slow to encode, less supported than webp, and it isn’t an open format.
