Given it’s a suite of tools designed specifically to download copyrighted content, why are you surprised that descriptions are coy and elusive?

The latest LLM’s are pretty damn good as a research assistant - that was its original purpose. Using chatgpt as your first go at researching a new subject (like self hosting) is perfectly valid.

for when you don’t host your own server but you use theirs
Considering this service would be used predominantly for pirated games, I imagine they’re not willing to open that can of worms.

Clearly not enough, if they’re desperate enough to lock client-side features behind a subscription.

Are you allergic to punctuation?
Nothing beats Google Photos for me, personally.
So I bought a used Google Pixel 1 (first gen) and use Syncthing to sync my camera roll from my phone to the Pixel 1.
Google originally advertised the Pixel 1 as having unlimited cloud storage for life, so they have to stick to it. I don’t pay for Google storage but I’ve got at least 500gb stored in Google Photos (including all my RAW photos and my digitised VHS tapes).
I’ll abuse this system until the Pixel 1 dies and I can’t get another one, then I’ll cry.
The self hosted calendar solutions have rubbish web apps, unfortunately. I’m pretty sure Radicale still doesn’t let you search your entire calendar for entries.
Obviously most calendar apps on desktop and your phone will have that feature, but that’s not exactly useful when you’re on a device you don’t manage and just wanna check your calendar real quick.
