I am an engineer. Most developers aren’t though, unfortunately.
That’s the problem with obnoxious updates, actually.
Why are you using arch Linux if not to debug your system though?
That’s wrong. It’s definitely not most people, but many are undoubtedly team windows people.
That’s mostly fluff though. Like you show, the core is either Linux or bsd and gnu, and then you have a handful of families.
That’s not fragmentation, that’s freedom.
And compatibility is a big factor too. Because of gnu and posix basically, almost anything that works on one distro will work on another.
Imagine if each distro was completely locked from anything on another one. That would be fragmentation, and we wouldn’t be talking about it, because it would be shit.
Chipset fabrication is not a secret in itself. You learn it in school and I’m sure you can find the informations on Internet. There are many steps and techniques though. Which asks the question of what do you actually want to do?
Isn’t that a hardware problem though? At some point you want your software to work, and years of reverse engineering for it to do so is a long time for it isn’t it?
Honestly, if such incompetent developers weren’t as arrogant as to argue how their bullshit is the right way to go, I would agree with you. But instead their bullshit philosophy is the expected way to work in many places, and it’s the cancer of computer development, so the anger is deserved IMO.
An answer that posit that disk space is infinite and free and embrace the black box philosophy. Soon we will have machine priests doing rituals to maintain them I guess.
I hate this philosophy so much! I hate developers for it! It’s like they gave up on even trying to do anything about retrocompatibility and managing libraries and dependancies.
Anyway it will collapse soon. I just wish it was sooner.
Not always true. Not for all games. And multiplayer games already have multithreading in some way.
Programmers mostly don’t know how to make multithread programs.
Oh so managers are biological LLMs! It explains everything!
