  • It’s a shame to see someone taking the side of big business over a small independent. Google has an effective monopoly on search, they take the content of sites and present it as their own, they also rarely do a good job of fighting SEO to show you things you actually want to see, this is likely a result of SEO winning rather than these guys.

    You’re celebrating the big guy and telling the little guy to just live with it. Whoes going to make content when they are all gone.


















  • I’ve been around open source for 20+ years and can tell you right now that it don’t work that way. An issue tracker and a wiki is not a community.

    Most older open source communities were built on irl connections and irc, with some mailing lists thrown in. Hell, we even funded conferences just around the software, not to sell a product but just because it’s good for everyone to be talking to each other.

    The issue tracker tracks the status of things, the wiki is generally user focused. It’s not where development happens or thinks get built.


  • There’s not many good options. It’s a genre that was built specifically for a keyboard, after all. Everything that isn’t a laptop or desktop is gonna be a frustrating downgrade.

    Maybe the answer is getting into adjacent genres of games. They aren’t the same, obviously, but there’s a lot of overlap with the adventure game genre, especially, and the visual novel genre is more distant but a lot more accessible away from a pc
