Or you just wait a little before you update or keep the extensions to small changes that are easier to update!
Or you just wait a little before you update or keep the extensions to small changes that are easier to update!
I usually stick to two or three and don’t try to findmentally change the workflow but you are right, especially for small changes like this one!
It’s not, it’s a rock solid, slow moving desktop that emulates a familiar experience for every Windows user and dose so awesome, my dad couldn’t use KDE or Gnome and XFCE is great too but far closer to that ancient description and harder to use than Cinnamon for most normal people, it’s simply perfect for people like my Dad even compared to Windows!
I get why that thing isn’t implemented because it’s really ugly and most of the icons there serve literally no purpose but they need a proper replacment because some apps simply need it!
Extensions are amazing if you need one or two small fwatures but if you mod something too much it will break eventually even if there is no update to the API. This time it’s a easy fix again but it’s also quite universal breakage sincee they switch from GJS to some more normal JS implementation and that changes some syntax but I expect developers to implement that quickly, maybe most of it could even be done with scripts I guess.
I think that would make a lot of sense considering the different communities about similar topic on different instances, can’t replace a proper search engine but I get that that would be really expensive to host (you would have to basically index Lemmy) and that’s a nice option for official discoverability support. The biggest issue in that regard will continue be the architecture of current search engines tho, Fediverse applications can’t rank properly in a domain based system and a Reddit alternative MUST rank in search engines to be viable!

It’s fille to the top with crypto garbage and just like Firefox build in tracker blocker Brave prioretizes website functionality over privacy so certain trackers aren’t blocked and you are better off with UBlock Origin anyway, I use and vouch for Librewolf!
Well, you kind of got it but also didn’t I guess. If I want to quickly edit a none critial config file or similar a terminal version of Notepad is perfectly fine and for more complex stuff I prefer a GUI anyway.
That’s more the environment than the age tho!
The results website builders produce are a bloated waste of resources on the server and client side so I generally advice against using them but if you really want to Wordpress with some drag and drop builder is probably your best bet!
Ever tried to download one of them on a slow internet connection or run it next to the browser on a slow Laptop?
It took me two or three attempts to really try and grasp the scale (one of the most complex games I ever played on my phone) but once I did I played it for countless hours! :)
Mindustry and Shattered Pixel Dungeon, I played those a lot of my phone but haven’t done so in quite a while! I think both of those are available on desktop Linux too, Shattered Pixel Dungeon even works on my Linux phone.
Most of us used Windows before and a Mac is a lot closer to Unix (many Terminal applications and stuff work well) but from a usability standpoint the completely walled garden is awful and bashing Apple is one of my favorite hoppies, iOS and their hardware are just even better attack surfaces and I like low hanging fruits!
PostmarketOS anyone?
That would work a lot better with XFCE, Mate or LXQT! (Not that I dislike any of those but unlike KDE they actually look old af)
Debian is one of the best Distros ever and a pillar of the Linux world both for desktop and server users but I probably wouldn’t have managed to use it as my first distro ether.
It’s happening, the nostalgic idiots start to embrace Gnome 3 too! Every version people call the older one good but this time most who disliked 3 actually seemed more happy with 4…
That’s not at all what my comment claims…
