Do you know a way I can backup the database without any of the pictrs data and still be able to resurrect the instance? We didnt really upload images anyways and id rather keep the backup small making it more likely i can resurrect the instance in the future when i get more money and find cheaper hosting

I’m personally more interested in the development of PieFed than SubLinks due to the focus on making it easy to contribute, the developer cares about usability and mod tools, its in Python, and the developer posts dev blogs and answers questions on mastodon https://join.piefed.social/blog/

I would not buy shares of this company if they were pennies. This company continued announcing new product before shipping the previous products and then had major issues with quality and many people reported refusal of refunds or fixes and a ton of shady behavior

Looking through yhe website has me a bit confused. If I want to use this and backup my computer to say Google Cloud. Do I have to set up a VM with google cloud and install software or what? I can’t seem to find any info on what the price will look like

I did, but also it really sucks having to go back and forth between here and matrix. Everything should be here especially since matrix isnt indexed and you know, lemmy is using lemmy so why not have the important stuff here

The ansible instructions have two sections for 0.18.5 and none for 0.19.

The instructions also state ‘ Please regenerate your customPostgres.conf from examples/customPostgres.conf’ but they dont say how to do that

Do people use Tailscale to be able to access local things on their network like Plex media servers when they’re not home? Tailscale looks interesting but I haven’t found a usecase where it would benefit me

I tried it, I still can upload files to the server when I go to Upload Files section but it redirect to the 404 I think due to the Short Urls. The images still upload to the server fine but its a hassle because it always looks like it fails. I don’t know how to fix the Short Urls issue though

and if i try to upload an image from the Upload Image section when editing the wiki it gives me the old HTTP 500 error.

the problem is that it thinks the files are located at /view/File:filename.png

but they’re really located at index.php?title=File:filename.png

What info do you need? The error seems to be due to the Short Urls feature. If I go to the Upload File section and upload a file it redirects to the file but gives a 404 message but when I go to the list of uploaded files I can see all the files have actually uploaded.
