As long as you never store the same data in two places, documents are fine. But if you’re gonna store my name along with my id on the post you’re describing, then forget it. Your entire life is pain from now on and you will not give a single shit about join efficiencies, or converting between docs and relational, or maybe even your family, pets or home.
Another kind of silly benefit is that distros without their own graphical package manager can use the gnome one with Flathub. I actually started installing NixOS on my family’s computers, because I can start from a common config and have everything up and running quickly. Plus it’s super stable. And with Flatpak, they can install software after I’m gone without editing the config. It’s kinda like my config is the base system, and then they can layer on top.
Bash + HttpPie is the way to go.

GoMuks is great, but I wanted something stupid simple. Haven’t worked on it in a little bit. Need to get back in there, but I do still use it myself.
If you uninstall Steam or Firefox, it can absolutely be gigs, just FYI. Very nice tool to have.

I actually have no real issue with RedHat still, but I moved from Silverblue to Nix just because this whole thing made me consider it again. Nix is amazing. Glad I switched.
It’s often not up to the app. It can be up to the packager, the distro, or the user if they change the XDG config directory.
I never use Sublime Text, but I love Sublime Merge. I dunno why. Something about the UI just works for my brain, and the merge UI is amazing. I only ever open it with smerge . in a directory, and it’s set to floating in my window manager so it pops up, I do my thing, and it goes away.
I use Kagi and love it.
