Looks at GTK 3
Not convinced.
Then an immutable OS is the right OS for you!
True but I think the Fast & the Furious franchise has a better shot at giving Pi a run for it’s money.
The thing with C is that it’s almost always going to be the fastest high-ish level language and it has an extremely stable ABI. Self contained code written 30 years ago will likely compile with only minor (and sometimes no) tweaks today. You’re lucky to go 3 years on C++ without something fairly big breaking due to changes in the underlying language and ABI.
Fortran would like a word.
C is powerful. Javascript is a husky midwestern gal at a Chinese buffet.
Well duh, Linux didn’t exist until Hannah Montanna wrote it.
What a time to be alive.
Nah a lot of improvements have come to the linux ecosystem because of Android/ChromeOS (since they’re just linux distributions, really). Use away.
Oh I’m sure. People get used to something because it’s forced on them and change is hard. Also, ADD is at all time highs thanks to portable devices.
People who are abducted and held captive often experience Stockholm Syndrome once they find themselves set free.
Still way less bloated than win11 I’d wager
Poettering works for MS now? That’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time.
No. I also turn off all mitigations. I am a monster!
I’ve used gentoo in my home for 23 years now. The good news is I’m down to system rebuilds once every 18 months or so.
Why mess with perfection?
I’m glad they got the order right. I feel like gentoo should be piloting a nuclear submarine targeting the Orca though.

Definitely look into fail2ban. There might be something newer out there, but something like that is essential for running open WAN ports.
