He has a point tho. The amount of copy pasting random shit from the internet into the console is way too comon if you go down the rabbit hole on some issues with the system and find a solution on some abandoned by god itself linux forum. To be fair its usualy just a comand that does shit for you in 5 seconds so you dont have to use gui buuut it does happen and i can tell what this stuff does but the average user likley dosent . Alghtough it might be less common today. Its been quite a long time since i last broke my system.
Yup. Thats just enterprise software for you. Something was made requiremnts changed, and then changed again and then ypu have duct tape on top of a duct tape with a duct tape holding those duct tapes and a touch of super glu here and there. Also ducttapes are microscopic in size but the sheer quantity of them is unimaginable.
Why tho. Arguably arch definietly shouldnt be their first choice of os but why bother changing it so soon
Or work for a software development related to finance and bookkeeping so you get the downsides of both.
Obviusly stack overflow users use linux but they are very specialized minority. India on the other hand is actually very interesting statistic. Unusaly high, i wonder why.
Thats not always true. If i remember correctly i had a problem updating something through pop shop and thats exatcly what i got. Updating through Cmd on the other hand showed me what the problem was(Which is what i do exclusivly right now) .
Thats apps not system upgrades we are talking about and even then there is a little number on the shop icon with the Number of updates Available.
But Yes typing sudo apt update(or upgrade im not realy sure right now ) followed by flatpak update is way easier, but much less clear for non technical users who are extremly scared of cmd for some reason.
Pop os does give you a fairly visible pop up that there are new updates and you Just need to Click on it and then Click update. If it works on android it should work here. In theory. Like you said too many power users to realisticly check
Hmm i on the other hand found it easier to fix shit on Linux since usualy somoene Will give you a line to copy and paste into cmd whereas on windows there is a ton of very cryptic menus to navigate through.
But then again everything is made for Windows by deafult so sometimes there are issues like your where stuff dosent work beacuse someone forgot Linux exist.
My God instaling Windows is the most horrific thing that exist. There are arch installers that are more user Friendly. The only reason pepole dont complain about it is beacuse Windows comes preinstaled on everything.
Also weirdly enough i had more problem with my nvidia gpu on windows rather than Linux (where the sensible distributions come with drivers preinstaled)
Oooh is that why ipv6 adoption is so regional ( Based on https://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html ) . Like france ,germany or india having more than 70 % while italy or poland hanging below 20% ? Also judging from this site it seems like ipv6 is actually getting adopted at quite the rapid pace. Even if some regions are faring way worse than the others.
