Peak SC.
That said, I wait for retroachevements before I dive back into my gcn collection.
I still need to fix mine, thanks for the link. The weirdest break it did once was messing with my Wi-Fi driver, managed to break Linux’ driver somehow, making the Internet a no go. Still no idea how Windows managed that though, they shouldn’t be messing with my bios. :/
I mean, if you duel boot, it’s just a matter of time until Windows nukes your other OS. At least with me, my Linux was about to solve world peace, but Windows got wind of that and shut it the fuck down.
Meme is correct, they’re coming for you.
I miss feeling pride in having all the consoles (my dad worked at a retailer, had the hookups!). Even had a Jaguar and a 3DO.
Now, with how hard PS5s were to get, the lack of decent exclusives (excluding Nintendo lol) and the bullshit of hacking to pay for multiplayer, I’ve become almost entirely PC gamer. I can’t even feel good about having one system, let alone all three big ones. :(
Ah, fun for the whole family. Very wholesome, that Quake game is.
You and me both, but to be fair it’s a year closer to the creation of console gaming to modern day. So I’ll let it pass.
People who call my music vintage or classic can get right the fuck back, though.
You were ahead of your time on environmental action, haha. I bet making a 15 minute city in Sim City is frowned upon, too.
If anything it’s mostly cause I played Sim City as a little kid and I played it terribly. They most assuredly would have done better.
(In the OG you could literally be like “surprise, 20% taxes!”)
Guy gets back to his old Sim City save only to find that, without a government randomly raising taxes on it’s citizens, the city thrived. The moment he tries to raise taxes up from zero, he is assassinated and the game shuts off, refusing to open again.
Haha, I forgot it also broke the clock. But as others explained, it’s fixable.
Yes, precisely! Haha
In my case, I got a little too confident and messed around with drivers to get stable situation to work. Oops.
But in the times windows kills something… aside from messing with my boot loader (always install windows first, then Linux), it also managed to break my wifi drivers to the point that it would blue screen my windows AND prevent Manjaro from booting (and once fixed, not connect to Internet via Wi-Fi).
If only. Usually my Manjaro partition is chill, but the moment I step foot in Windows 11, it throws a pissy fit and breaks something it shouldn’t even have access to.
If Linux just calls you a cheater, Microsoft sets you and everything you love on fire to make a point.
It’s true though. Steam Deck Desktop introduced me to Arch and there has been no turning back (except when my software isn’t remotely compatable, anyway)
Keep those eyes out for working CRTs in thrift stores and garage sales. Or, I guess, estate sales? Or idk, whatever it’s called when they give dead old people stuff away. It’s a dying breed.
Point is, you need a curved screen and crazy strong scan lines. 4:3 ratio or bust.
