That shit is so annoying especially when I am just using a small window size.

Yea no shit I have to figure out why it’s having issues, but my point is that I still have to jump through hoops just to figure out what’s wrong, I have a life to deal with besides being on my pc for hours on end

I generally only use Linux for programming just because how convenient and straightforward it is, but beyond that I have no incentive to move.

I like KDE but the ui is jank af right now, after logging in, it takes a solid 1-2 min for the taskbar to actually popup, and opening file manager including any file dialogs takes about 5-10 secs which is pretty insane since I’m running on a pretty powerful PC with a Samsung 990 pro M.2.

For context I am using Endeavour distro with nothing else modified.

I entirely avoided this issue ever since I started to mess with Linux with separate drives, and then brought in a litany of other issues by me whenever I wanted to wipe and reinstall windows or Linux.

You are talking about the old Ameliorated, the new one doesn’t modify an iso instead its a tool that modifies an already installed windows instance.

Its an open source tool for modifying existing windows installation preferably start with a fresh one. It does quite a lot with removing anything spyware related. Removing a bunch of features that really no one uses in order to mitigate the attack surface from vulnerabilities.

Do watch out if you use UWP it will remove those too, including Edge.

I’ve personally used more of runit and a bit of openrc. After fucking around for a good year I decided to jump back on systemd cause i was wasting way more time maintaining the system more than actually using it.

I have to stick to windows only because of VR, once performance and UX improves I will nuke windows out of my PC but I still absolutely love linux, been hopping around distros like a madman almost 2 years ago until I settled on arch, couldn’t leave the damn thing.

Minecraft is cross platform and has been perfect with modding on Linux for a long time.
