Is the 500usd for the full computer? I got confused before that some of the cheapest configurations didn’t have everything needed to make the computer, like RAM and storage.
I guess a monitor is just a really fancy light matrix…
Yeah, it’s crazy and pretty interesting.
Easily is relative. A Google search or a terminal is too much for some people.
How’s the regular Internet there? The filtered one? Is it still usable, or are even normies looking for ways into the full Internet?
Ask a local engineering university if they want to get rid of their old electric baja. I don’t know how much they cost the university, and they’re probably not street legal, but if they’re making a new one each year you might be able to get the old one for cheap.
Economies of scale are huge for vehicles. A single prototype vehicle like a model y or mach e often costs several million dollars. A custom car might not be that much, but it’d still be a ton.
I haven’t tried sync yet, how does new account creation work through their app?
Do you think ‘normies’ (people with very very little technical knowledge/experience) will be able to come to a decentralized platform like lemmy? Can a platform be successful long term (especially in niche areas) without that super huge low effort part of the user base?
The problem is I’m addicted to Fusion’s generative design topology optimization. I haven’t seen anything else like it on the market, much less open source. It’s shapes are so cool and material efficient for 3d printing.
