Stability AI, the British artificial intelligence startup behind the Stable Diffusion image generator, has explored selling the company as management faces increased pressure from investors over its financial position.

It’s ogre. All downhill from here. While, it is possible to have a better CEO than Emad, I doubt their investors will appoint one.

    I guess that explains the licensing for their recent video models. I hope they will continue to release their models for private use though, there is no other company in the generative AI space that has done more for open source.

      Maybe generative image space. Facebook’s Llama 2 and Mistral’s Mistral 7B have done absolutely astonishing things on the generative text side.

          Relatively trivial to retrain an open source model though. Censorship is only a lasting problem on locked down platforms.
